A Perfect Breakthrough for "Pearl River No. 1"

On December 15th, the "Pearl River No. 1" slurry balance rectangular pipe jacking machine, custom-built by Tangxing Technology, successfully completed the power pipe gallery tunnel jacking task on the access road to Pearl River Station. This achievement marked a significant milestone in the power pipe gallery project in Wanqingsha Town, Nansha District, laying a solid foundation for the supporting infrastructure of the Nansha National Cultural and Sports Complex.

The project presented complex geological conditions, with the crossing section mainly composed of silty clay. Its proximity to the Pearl River posed risks such as leakage and water ingress, requiring stringent technical standards for both the pipe jacking equipment and the construction team. The "Pearl River No. 1" rectangular pipe jacking machine undertook a total jacking length of 720 meters, with a soil cover thickness ranging from 5.11 to 9.48 meters. Measuring 3.32 meters wide and 4.42 meters high, the machine was equipped with a combination of one large and three small cutterheads, mud pipeline slag discharge technology, and automatic friction reduction technology. These features effectively addressed multiple technical challenges, including rapid excavation and forming, precise posture control of the main unit, and soil settlement management.
