"Huapu" Earth Pressure Balance Shield TBM Successfully Launched

On November 16th, 2024, the "Huapu" earth pressure balance shield TBM, independently developed by Tangxing Technology, was officially launched in the B section tunnel of the 110 kV Baiao Line No. 7 to No. 19 line relocation project in Dadukou, Chongqing. This marks the smooth progress of a critical milestone in the project and highlights Tangxing Technology's technical expertise in underground excavation construction.

The "Huapu" earth pressure balance shield TBM was custom-designed to meet the geological challenges of the project, incorporating a series of innovative technologies:  

① Newly designed anti-spurting telescopic screw conveyor slag discharge system, ensuring stability and efficiency during the slag discharge process.  

② One-stop curved beam efficient segment lifting system, significantly improving operational efficiency.  

③ Large-slope sharp turn rail-type transportation system, perfectly addressing the construction requirements of tunnel curves.  

④ Double-articulated guide measurement system, ensuring high excavation accuracy.  

⑤ Three-dimensional foam slag improvement system, making slag treatment more environmentally friendly and efficient.  

These cutting-edge features provide robust support for the shield machine’s safe and efficient excavation.

The B section tunnel spans a total length of 1,160 meters, primarily passing through moderately weathered mudstone, with some areas involving strongly weathered and moderately weathered sandstone. The uniaxial compressive strength of the mudstone reaches 10 MPa, posing complex geological challenges that demand high equipment performance.

Previously, the A section of the tunnel, also part of the project, was excavated by Tangxing Technology's "Dashun" shield TBM. Since its launch in June this year, the A section has successfully completed 40% of the excavation work, providing valuable experience for the B section of the tunnel.
