China’s First Rectangular SPB MTBM

On December 30th, with a large pipe jacking machine weighing more than 100 tons slowly coming out of the hole, The project realized the cross-strait breakthrough ahead of schedule and it is China’s first slurry rectangular pipe jacking project crossed the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Power Pipe Gallery .It is a high-voltage power pipe gallery project, located in Rencheng District, Jining City. The project starts from the west of National Highway 105 and ends at the power plant substation in the north. The total length is 3.4km, including excavation construction and pipe jacking construction, of which the pipe jacking section is 625 meters.

 

The foundation pit of the project was excavated to a depth of 28 meters, creating the record for the deepest rectangular pipe jacking under construction in the country! The single jacking distance of the project is 625 meters and it only took 60 days. The interjack station was not used.

The crossing strata are mainly clay and ginger stone. The construction process is extremely difficult, and the performance requirements of the pipe jacking machine equipment are extremely high. Not only does it need to overcome the complicated river bed geology of the Liangji Canal, but the pipe jacking at 28 meters underground has a high risk factor and high safety standards. It is also necessary to deal with harsh construction environments such as long-distance pipe jacking, high jacking force, high groundwater level and large water volume. Tangxing rectangular pipe jacking equipment solved problems such as rectangular long-distance jacking and rectangular blind areas.

 

The operation data index is stable, the failure rate is low, and the operation is simple, especially the performance of mud entry around the large cutter head, cutter head water supply and machine steering. It has successfully challenged the ultra-long distance, high water pressure, deep-covered soil complex stratum, and broken many domestic pipe jacking projects record:

The high-voltage power pipeline corridor under the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has been connected to the east and west banks ahead of schedule , which has great significance.
