A Perfect Breakthrough for "Zhoushui" TBM

On January 19, 2026, the Zhoushan Hongqiao Reservoir–Dasha Reservoir Tunnel Interconnection Project was successfully completed, marking a major milestone in this key water conservancy infrastructure initiative. During the project, the “Zhoushui” TBM completed approximately 2,600 meters of tunneling.

The project faced extremely challenging geological conditions. The tunnel alignment crosses a transitional zone from low mountains to hilly terrain, featuring significant elevation changes and highly complex geological formations dominated by tuff with varying degrees of weathering. During excavation, the TBM encountered multiple difficulties, including ultra-hard rock sections approaching 200 MPa, tight-radius curves, extensively developed fractures, and groundwater infiltration. These complex conditions placed exceptionally high demands on the machine’s adaptability and reliability.

To address these special working conditions, the “Zhoushui” TBM was specifically equipped with a heavy-duty hard-rock cutter head, providing strong rock-breaking capability and excellent wear resistance. This configuration ensured stable and continuous excavation performance in complex strata. In addition, the machine emphasized environmental protection and energy efficiency. Through structural optimization and material improvements, noise, vibration, and dust emissions were effectively controlled, while dynamic parameter adjustments enabled energy-efficient operation.

Throughout the entire project lifecycle, Tangxing Technology deployed a dedicated technical service team stationed on site, working closely with all project stakeholders.
