Tangxing Technology HRC2800mm Rock Pipe Jacking Machine Successfully Completes Key Section of Foshan Cable Duct Project

On January 15, the HRC2800mm rock pipe jacking machine, independently developed by Tangxing Technology, successfully completed the jacking works for a key section of the Foshan 220 kV Xusheng–Daliang Second Circuit Cable Tunnel Project.

The completed section involved a jacking distance of nearly 1.3 kilometers, representing a typical ultra-long-distance pipe jacking construction. The alignment passed beneath water bodies under significant overburden depth. Geological conditions were highly complex, with alternating layers of hard to moderately weathered sandstone, sand, and soft soil, posing severe challenges to the machine’s rock-breaking capability, system stability, and continuous operating performance.

Under these demanding conditions, the HRC2800mm rock pipe jacking machine demonstrated excellent overall performance. Its cutter head adopts a composite structure with four main beams and four auxiliary beams, offering high rigidity and balanced load distribution. The cutter head opening ratio was optimally configured to balance rock-breaking efficiency with excavated soil flow. The cutting system combines disc cutters and cutting tools, enabling efficient excavation in hard rock while adapting smoothly to transitions from hard rock to soft soil, ensuring stable operating parameters throughout the drive.

To address the issue of large rock fragments commonly generated in hard rock formations, the machine is equipped with a secondary crushing system, enabling step-by-step fragmentation of rock blocks. This significantly improves crushing efficiency, reduces energy consumption, and minimizes the risk of blockage in the slurry circulation system. Key areas of the cutter head feature a composite wear-resistant design, substantially enhancing wear resistance, extending the service life of core components, and ensuring stable performance during prolonged high-load operation.

The successful breakthrough fully demonstrates the adaptability and reliability of Tangxing Technology’s pipe jacking equipment under ultra-long-distance, complex composite geology, and underwater construction conditions.
