The Long-distance and Large-section Rectangular Pipe Jacking Project Under the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Has Been Completed

On June 16th, as the cutter head of the rectangular pipe jacking machine broke through the wall, the Jining Canal New City High Pressure Pipe Gallery Project achieved two-way penetration through the pipe jacking section under the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, marking that the project has ushered in a key node. It has laid a solid foundation for the connection of high-voltage lines on both sides of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. 

The project used Tangxing Equipment's large-section 4m×4m slurry balance rectangular pipe jacking machine, which passed through the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The total length of pipe jacking construction is 1250 (625×2) meters, the thickness of the covering soil is 8-28 meters, and a total of 500 single pipe joints . The pipe jacking is in the form of a two-way single cabin, and the operation of the cutter head can be controlled at the millimeter level. Through the highly stable slurry balance technology, the frequency of soil disturbance around the jacking pipe is effectively reduced, the stability of the excavation surface is guaranteed, and the risk of settlement is minimized. The pipe jacking technology not only ensures the normal operation of the waterway during the construction process, but also protects the water quality environment of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.

The high-voltage pipe gallery project is a first-level star-marked project on the wall map of Jining City. After completion, more than 3,100 acres of construction land can be released, which is of great significance to promoting the transformation of the development mode and industrial optimization and upgrading of Jining Canal New City.
